Realtor Blurb: The historic Councill House of Hickory. This elegant, 3-story, Queen Anne style home is truly a local treasure. Built in 1902 & restored in 1998, careful attention was given to the charming features of this 6BR/5.5BA home. Located diagonally across from the SALT Block & close to downtown Hickory, the location is ideal. The beautifully landscaped one-acre lot can be accessed from 3 convenient roads. Walk up the front steps to the wrap-around porch that can be used for entertaining & relaxing. Enter the front door to the expansive foyer. To the right & left are pocket doors leading to a gentleman's & ladies parlor each w/gas log fireplaces. There is a private den, MBR & BA with WIC. Formal DR has a stunning built-in china cabinet. Gourmet kit w/solid maple flrs & revived kit cabinets, pantry & commercial grade stainless appliances. 2nd Level has 3 BRs & 3 full BAs. There is also 790 sf partially fin area ready for expansion. 3rd Level has den, 2 BRs, Jack & Jill BA & additional storage.

My Notes: Another INCREDIBLE Queen Anne! Beautifully restored. It almost seems like a Barber design, but there's no hint of him in the known records. Over an acre of land to boot. Very liveable; and I especially appreciate the original unpainted woodwork. I love the large, sunny kitchen even though it's more modern than the rest of the house. I also like that they left the original fixtures in some of the bathrooms.
