Built: 1915

Realtor Blurb: Stunning Victorian, C. 1915, in Downtown Historic District. 10 ft. wide wrap porch, 10 ft. ceilings, leaded-glass accents. Handcrafted woodwork, 8 fireplaces (not guaranteed functional), grand staircase and heart pine floors are features that make this home the epitome of yesteryear's gracious living. Upgrades like tankless hot water heater, gourmet range and steam shower provide comfort for today's living. All bedrooms do not have closets due to age of home. Zoned O & I grandfathers for Residential.

My Notes: This home is INCREDIBLE. I love everything about it. The newel posts *alone* are works of art! And.. a whimsical purple bathroom. Lol. It seems this is often used for town celebrations. The kitchen is lovely; the dining; the bedrooms; the floors...sigh. Anyway; it's featured in several places on the web. Called the Walter Aiken House; it is featured on Preservation NC here; has its' own Facebook page here; and two independent local preservation sites here and here. I screencapped the last one because it gives the most clear and comprehensive history of the house. Enjoy this beauty!
